Farm Visits · For the BhoomiSeva team
We name a project only after someone has stood on the land. Record what you saw, what you measured, the readiness score and your recommendation — on the farm, before you leave it.
How the score is read
A low score is not a refusal. It tells us what to fix before the farm can carry a project, and it protects the farmer from starting something that will fail on water or on capital.
| Criterion | What you are judging | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Land and soil | Soil type and condition, depth, slope, salinity, what the pit face shows | 20 |
| Water security | Source, how many months it lasts, irrigation already in place | 20 |
| Owner commitment | Is the decision-maker present, will they do the work, do they keep records | 15 |
| Capital and finance readiness | Can they fund the first season, or is a loan realistic | 15 |
| Access and logistics | Road, power, labour, distance for input delivery and produce lifting | 10 |
| Market fit | Does what the land can grow match a basket, a buyer or buyback | 10 |
| Family and local support | Family agreement, neighbours, the Kendra's reach to this village | 10 |
70 and above: proceed to project selection. 50 to 69: proceed once the gaps named in the report are fixed. Below 50: hold, and tell the lead and the circle honestly why.
