• The whole field

  One wide photo from each of two corners, so we can see the slope and the boundary.

• The soil, six inches deep

  Dig a small pit and photograph the cut face. Colour, cracks and roots tell us a great deal.

• Your water source

  The well, borewell, pond or canal — and the pump, if there is one.

• The crop standing now

  Plus a close-up of any disease, pest or yellowing you are worried about.

• Your soil report

  A photo of the soil test report or Soil Health Card, if you have one. Old reports still help.

• The approach road

  How a vehicle reaches the farm. It decides how we plan the visit and, later, deliveries.

No soil report? That is normal, and often the reason for the visit. A 45-minute test can be done at a Kendra near you.
